Frosty, Heidi and Frank's Farewell Video

Today was Frosty, Heidi and Frank's last show. It was fun, tearful, but most of all... genuinely heartfelt. It was really touching hearing the triplets talk about the show and with all the fans. Let me tell ya I teared up several times today. These guys are like my three best friends. I'm really going to miss them but I know they won't be gone for long. Talent like this can't stay off the air for too long. Frosty, Heidi and Frank developed this awesome farewell video for us fans. It really is a tribute to the show and the fans. Get a box of tissues 'cause you're going to laugh and cry. I know I did.

Farewell to Frosty, Heidi and Frank... For Now...

Today was an extremely difficult day. After reading about the inevitable demise of KLSX 97.1 FM Talk, I just continued to feel such sorrow. I listened to the Adam Carolla Show in the morning and was just hit with a wave of sadness. Then Frosty, Heidi and Frank came on the air and I just found myself on the verge of tears several times. Why am I feeling this way? How come I feel so sad? I came to realize that these radio personalities I've listened to for the past three or so years have really become part of my life. I know that sounds ridiculous it's true.

I discovered Frosty, Heidi and Frank when I started my new job about three years ago. I was turned on to KLSX FM Talk during my rides home with Tom Leykis. I kept hearing spots about this Frosty, Heidi and Frank Show and had no idea what that's all about. They sounded really funny so I tuned in one day and have been a fan ever since.

The chemistry between these three are amazing. They are funny as hell and are so easy going that listeners feel like they are part of the conversation. The triplets are much like a bunch of really good friends that you come to love and enjoy. They talk about their lives and all their experiences so much so that listeners feel like they really know these guys. I know that's how I feel. Frosty, Heidi and Frank open up about really personal things in their lives this just builds an incredible bond between the radio hosts and the listener.

I'm going to miss hearing Heidi's cackle. Her cackle is by far the most infectious and funny laugh I have ever heard and I love her for it! There has been so many fond memories of the show that I will carry with me forever. The "Who's Going to Hell" segments, the drinking shows, the think tanks, and all the rest.

Part of me is still in denial but this is really happening. It really sucks. I was thinking about the Great Depression a few weeks ago and wondered what people back then used to do to keep entertained in such economic times. TV was not widely available but radio was far more popular. They must've been entertained by radio shows. The economy continues to worsen by the day and I just figured that Frosty, Heidi and Frank will still be here. They are part of radio after all. People need entertainment during these hard times. It never even occured to me that they would go off the air. It was just not in my scope of reality. After having gotten to hear each show talk about the situation, I have come to some sort of acceptance over this.

As sad as I am that Frosty, Heidi and Frank are going off the air, I know this is not the end by far. The triplets have a great show and they are going out on top. They will surely find a new home some time in the future. I can only hope that they'll find a new home in the Los Angeles area somewhere so I can still get them while I drive and online.

Tomorrow is the final show and it will be one big party blowout!! I can't wait to hear the show tomorrow and see the webcast. So for now I bid farewell to my friends Frosty, Heidi and Frank but it won't be for too long. When one door closes, another one opens. I can't wait to see what the future holds for them. Tune in tomorrow for the final shows webcasting live!!

KLSX 97.1 FM Talk Goes Off the Air

I was listening to the Frosty, Heidi and Frank Show today and all seemed to be well until the very last hour of the show. Apparently there had been numerous emails pouring into Frank's inbox about a comment Adam Carolla made on the morning show about the uncertain future for the FM talk station. I chose not to believe this at first. They were rumors after all but after hearing that, I just did not feel right. On the air Frosty, Heidi and Frank were webcasting live and they all didn't seem to be upset. When Frank responded about the emails, Frosty proceeded to say that he and the crew were not worried and that nothing was happening that wasn't already expected. Well that got me really nervous.

So I did a little research and didn't find any information. On my Facebook page and the Facebook FHF fan page, there were just comments from other fans all of which were not verified. It all seemed to be rumors. Later in the day I checked again and my dream was shattered. It was indeed true. CBS Radio has decided to change the format to Top 40 music radio in the form of AMP 97.1 to compete directly with Clear Channel's KIIS 102.7 in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, according to the Orange County Register.

Why the hell would CBS Radio do this?! As though there wasn't already enough boring, repetitive top 40 radio on the airwaves? I stopped listening to music radio about three years ago when I discover 97.1 FM Talk and haven't looked back since. FM Talk generates entertaining and original programming several hours a day everyday for nearly fourteen years... FOURTEEN YEARS!! If the talk format was not successful, it wouldn't have lasted this long.

The thing that really pisses me off is that the Frosty, Heidi and Frank Show continued to dominated during their timeslot. They're number one in Los Angeles but that still was not enough to save them from cancellation with the rest of the shows on the station. I like the other shows on the station as well but Frosty, Heidi and Frank really stood out from the rest. Their show is one of the most valuable. In fact, the Adam Carolla Show; Frosty, Heidi and Frank Show; and the Tom Leykis Show are all really high rated shows in the demographic of 25-45 year old adults, (primarily men.)

I'm optimistic that Frosty, Heidi and Frank will find a new home in the next coming months. There was already talk about the future of their show on KLSX after their one year extension several months ago. I'm sure the trio have already been making plans and ideas of what they can do should they be taken off the air. The cat's already out of the bag so hopefully they'll talk about this a little bit tomorrow.

Music radio is totally overdone and not the least bit interesting. The same ten or twenty songs repeat continuously throughout the day on almost all the radio stations. It becomes downright disgusting! CBS Radio thinks that changing for the FM talk format to Top 40 music radio will help their financial woes but they'll soon find out they are outmatched. Clear Channel's KIIS FM has been doing Top 40 far longer and have already become mainstream among the demographic CBS Radio is trying to target. I hope that CBS Radio's attempt will fail.

The last shows will air this Friday, February 20. The station will change format after the last hour of the Tom Leykis Show at 5 p.m. One thing is for sure, I will no longer be a CBS Radio listener after the changeover. FUCK YOU CBS RADIO AND KISS MY ASS!

Dollhouse Premieres Tomorrow!!

I honestly cannot wait to see Dollhouse tomorrow! I'm a huge Joss Whedon fan and I'm so excited that he's finally returning to television. Not only that, he's bringing Eliza Dushku along for the ride!! Whedon is an amazing storyteller and director as shown on both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. I get giddy just seeing a "written and directed by Joss Whedon" credit on screen. I know... I'm a geek.

I'm excited for this show also because Eliza Dushku is an amazing actress. She does some of her best work under Whedon's direction. Her role as Faith in Buffy the Vampire Slayer is proof of that. She's so versatile and with the interesting concept behind Dollhouse, I can only assume that it'll be pure greatness!

The first episode hasn't aired yet so most of my excitement is premature. As most Joss Whedon fan knows, the actors in Whedon's camp are all top notch. I have no doubt the new people will be just as good. Tune in tomorrow at 9 p.m. on FOX for Dollhouse!!
